The Physician Behind Speak

Meet Dr. Miry.

A little low-key. Very particular about my work.

I’m Dr. Miry, founder of Speak Medical Aesthetics.

In everyday life, I’m pretty low-key. Most days, my hair is in a bun, I’m wearing little to no makeup, and I’m balancing life as a mom, wife, and business owner.

But when it comes to medicine, I take the details seriously.

After years practicing neonatology, I found a new way to bring together my love of science, skin health, and aesthetics.

My approach is simple: listen first, understand what matters to you, and make thoughtful decisions about what may help—and what may be better left alone.

I created Speak for people who want to explore aesthetics without feeling pressured to change who they are.

Miry Kwon, D.O.Founder · Board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics

Get to Know Me

The Speak Philosophy

Low-key aesthetics. High standards.

You can want a little something done without wanting to look like you’ve had something done.

Maybe you’ve noticed a change in your skin. Maybe you’re curious about a treatment you’ve heard about. Or maybe you simply want to feel a little more refreshed.

Whatever brings you here, you don’t need to have all the answers.

At Speak, we believe good aesthetic care begins with understanding your skin, your goals, and what makes you feel like yourself.

We focus on skin quality, thoughtful enhancements, and treatments chosen for a reason—not simply because they’re popular.

Sometimes that means starting small. Sometimes it means taking a longer-term approach. And sometimes, the best recommendation is to do nothing at all.

Low-key doesn’t mean lowering our standards. It means being intentional about what we do—and why.

  • Skin First

    Healthy-looking skin is the foundation.

Tone, texture, hydration, and firmness all contribute to how our skin looks and feels. Inspired by Korean skincare principles, we focus on skin quality, barrier care, and long-term maintenance.

  • Thoughtful Enhancements

    More isn’t always better.

Aesthetic care should complement your natural features, not compete with them. We prioritize treatments based on your individual needs, with realistic expectations and a thoughtful approach to change.

  • Medical Judgment

Every decision should have a reason.

Good medicine requires careful assessment, technical knowledge, and the judgment to recognize when treatment may not be appropriate. Patient safety and informed decisions come first.

What You're Noticing

Let's understand what you're noticing.

How you hope to feel is where we begin. Looking closely at your skin helps us understand which treatments may support the change you have in mind.

  • Close-up of a closed eye and freckled cheek with sun spots in soft window light

    Hyperpigmentation & Dark Spots

If dark spots, sun spots, freckles or uneven tone are what you notice first, we begin by understanding their cause. Different types of pigmentation need different care.

  • Close-up of the eyes and forehead, with expression lines at the brow and bridge of the nose

    Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Perhaps you'd like to soften the lines between your brows, across your forehead or beside your eyes. We'll talk about the change you prefer and the expression you want to retain.

  • Close-up of the lower face showing the jowl and jawline in soft light

    Skin Laxity

When your skin feels less firm, it helps to understand what has changed. We'll assess whether a nonsurgical treatment could offer the degree of improvement you're looking for.

  • Close-up of the cheek and nose showing visible pores and skin texture

    Texture & Enlarged Pores

Visible pores, uneven texture and acne scars can each affect how you feel about your skin. We'll explain which options may help and how improvement can develop over time.

  • Close-up of skin texture

    Dull, Tired-Looking Skin

Sometimes you're looking for skin that feels more comfortable and looks a little brighter. We'll look at your current routine and talk through whether skincare changes, or one of our treatments, could help.

Treatments

  • Monopolar radiofrequency

    XERF

    A conversation about firmness.

  • wrinkle relaxer

    Xeomin®

    Softer expression lines.

Xeomin is a prescription injection that temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet.

    Full Important Safety Information

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) — Important Safety Information

What is Xeomin? Xeomin is a prescription medicine injected into muscles to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe upper facial lines—frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), forehead lines and crow's feet (lateral canthal lines)—in adults.

Xeomin may cause serious side effects that can be life threatening. Get medical help right away if you have any of these problems any time (hours to weeks) after treatment:

    • Problems swallowing, speaking or breathing. These can happen if the muscles you use to breathe and swallow become weak after the injection. Death can happen as a complication of severe swallowing or breathing problems. People who already have swallowing or breathing problems have the highest risk. Swallowing problems may last for several months.
    • Spread of toxin effects. The effect of botulinum toxin may affect areas of the body away from the injection site and cause symptoms of a serious condition called botulism, including loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, loss of bladder control, trouble breathing and trouble swallowing. If these occur, do not drive, operate machinery or do other dangerous activities.

Do not receive Xeomin if you: are allergic to Xeomin or any of its ingredients; had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product; or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.

Before receiving Xeomin, tell your provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you: have a disease that affects your muscles and nerves (such as ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome); have had side effects from any botulinum toxin; have a breathing problem such as asthma or emphysema; have a history of swallowing problems or inhaling food or fluid into your lungs; have drooping eyelids; have had eye surgery or surgery on your face; or are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Tell your provider about all the medicines you take, especially if you have received any other botulinum toxin product in the last four months; have received botulinum toxin injections in the past; recently received an antibiotic by injection or inhalation; or take muscle relaxants, allergy or cold medicines, or sleep medicines.

Allergic reactions can occur. Symptoms may include itching, rash, redness, swelling, wheezing, trouble breathing, or dizziness or feeling faint. Get medical help right away if you have wheezing or trouble breathing, or feel dizzy or faint.

The most common side effect in adults treated for upper facial lines is injection-site bruising. These are not all the possible side effects of Xeomin. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or www.fda.gov/medwatch.

Please read the Medication Guide and the Full Prescribing Information, including Boxed Warning before treatment. Xeomin® is a registered trademark of Merz Pharma GmbH & Co KGaA.

  • microneedling

    Dermapen 4 Microneedling

    Even out textured skin.

Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin to help improve the appearance of facial acne scars through collagen induction.

  • Professional chemical peel

    LHALALA “LALA” Peel

    A gentle approach to exfoliation.

LHALALA is a professional Korean peeling system with Lipo Hydroxy Acid designed to preserve the skin barrier while addressing concerns such as dullness, uneven texture, and inflammation. There is usually minimal irritation and downtime.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

I know how I want to feel, but not which treatment I need. Is that enough?

Yes. Selecting a treatment is part of the consultation. Bring your questions and any relevant skincare or treatment history.

I'm nervous about looking overdone. How do you approach that?

Tell us which changes you want to avoid. We can discuss a conservative starting point and reassess before considering more.

What if I only want a small change?

Absolutely. We can focus on the concern that matters most to you and discuss the simplest appropriate plan. There is no expectation to address everything you notice.

Will I feel pressured to book treatment?

There is no obligation to proceed with treatment after your consultation. You're welcome to take time to decide.

How do you decide what to recommend?

We consider your medical history, skin, previous treatments and goals, along with the time and budget you feel comfortable committing. We explain why we recommend an option and when another approach—or no treatment—may make more sense.

How soon will I see a change?

Timing depends on the treatment and your skin's response. Some changes develop gradually, and some plans involve repeat visits. We'll discuss the expected timeline, recovery and maintenance before you decide.

Do the treatments hurt?

Everyone has a different pain tolerance, and we do our best to keep each treatment as comfortable as possible. Depending on the treatment, we offer topical numbing cream, vibration tools and cooling tools.

Do you offer dermal filler?

No. We offer Xeomin wrinkle relaxers alongside treatments for pigmentation, acne scars and skin firmness. If your goals call for a service we don't provide, we'll be clear about that.

What makes your approach Korean inspired?

Dr. Miry's aesthetic education and clinical observerships in South Korea inform an approach shaped by K-beauty principles: a well-maintained skin barrier, hydration and clarity. At Speak, gradual treatments work alongside daily skincare and ongoing maintenance.

Appointments and Consultations

Appointments are subject to availability. A consultation allows us to review your concerns, relevant medical history, treatment options, and goals. Any consultation fee or booking deposit will be disclosed before you reserve your appointment.

Booking or purchasing a service does not establish that treatment is medically appropriate. Your provider will assess suitability and may recommend an alternative, postpone treatment, or decline a procedure when appropriate.

Identification and Third-Party Payments

Please bring valid photo identification so we can verify your identity and age, regardless of your payment method. Our intake process includes permission to photograph and securely store your identification in your medical record.

If another person pays with their card, the cardholder must be present, provide valid photo identification, and sign a separate Third-Party Payment Authorization before payment is processed.

Paying for another person’s services does not provide access to that person’s medical information.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.

A $100 fee applies to missed appointments and appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice. Applicable fees will be disclosed before booking.

Please contact us promptly if illness, an emergency, or another circumstance affects your ability to attend.

Late Arrival

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment to allow sufficient time for safe care and avoid delaying other patients.

Payment and Pricing

Services are self-pay. Payment in full is due at the time of service unless another arrangement has been approved in writing.

We disclose the proposed treatment price before treatment. You may ask questions about charges or decline a proposed service before it is provided.

Prices may change for future purchases. Price changes do not alter the price of services already purchased.

A 3% surcharge applies to credit-card payments, including credit cards on file, but will not exceed our actual processing cost or other applicable limits. No surcharge applies to debit or prepaid cards. The applicable surcharge will be disclosed before you incur the charge and shown separately on your receipt.

Providing a card or signing a financial agreement does not authorize charges you have not agreed to.

Refunds and Treatment Results

Payment does not guarantee a particular clinical or cosmetic result. Responses vary, and additional treatment may be recommended.

Discretionary refund requests are reviewed individually. Speak Medical Aesthetics determines eligibility and any refund amount case by case, subject to applicable law and the written terms of the purchase.

If you discontinue treatment, you remain responsible for services already provided and other charges properly due under the terms disclosed to you.

Prepaid Services and Packages

Prepaid services and treatment packages are nontransferable and may be used only by the patient for whom they were purchased.

Any expiration dates, cancellation terms, and terms for unused services will be disclosed at purchase. Purchasing a package does not override the need for assessment before each treatment.

Skincare Products, Gift Cards, and Promotions

Unopened skincare products in their original packaging may be returned within seven days of purchase, with proof of purchase.

Opened or used products are not returnable, except as required by law. Please contact us if a product appears defective or causes an unexpected reaction.

Purchased gift cards are subject to their separately disclosed terms and applicable legal protections.

Complimentary or promotional bonus items and services have no separate cash or refund value.

Billing Questions and Unpaid Balances

Please contact us if you need an explanation of a charge or believe a billing error has occurred.

Lawfully owed unpaid balances may be subject to reasonable collection costs, court costs, and attorney’s fees actually incurred, only as provided in your signed agreement and permitted by law.

These policies do not waive your right to dispute a charge in good faith or exercise rights available through your payment provider or applicable law.

Respectful Conduct

Speak Medical Aesthetics treats patients with dignity and respect and expects the same consideration toward providers, staff, and other patients.

Harassment, discriminatory abuse, threats, and unsafe behavior are not permitted. We may stop an appointment or decline further elective services when necessary, consistent with applicable notice and continuity-of-care obligations.

Asking questions, declining treatment, expressing disagreement, or making a good-faith complaint does not violate this policy.

Privacy and Photography

We protect patient information in accordance with our Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable law.

Public use of identifiable patient photographs, recordings, or testimonials requires separate authorization. Agreeing to treatment does not authorize marketing use of your images or information.
